We listened to the Nashville Tribute Band CD while driving around to the various church history sites, which made it extra awesome. This one is a favorite about Joseph and Hyrum:

We should have prepped Andrew a little bit better for out visit to Carthage Jail. While watching the movie before the tour, the narrator got to the part of the story where Joseph Smith got shot and Andrew shouted, “What?! The bad guys killed Joseph?!! Now that’s just rude!!” Amen, buddy. Amen.
Then we went on a tour of the jail. One of the rooms that they were held in, I just can’t even imagine being trapped in there. In the upstairs room the audio wasn’t working so we got to sit there for a bit while the missionary tried to get it to work. It was incredible to just sit there and feel the palpable spirit in that room.
These boys don’t know how lucky they are to get to see and experience such awesome things! In one of our wards, the stake president’s wife said that when her kids were growing up she and her husband did their best to put their kids in as many situations as possible where they would be able to easily feel the spirit (sacrament meeting, temple grounds, church history sites, efy, etc). I hope they are learning to recognize those feelings! Andrew says that sometimes when we talk about Jesus that it makes him feel “warm and happy.” 🙂
Brothers! Hopefully Andrew and Alex can be a force for good and righteousness like Joseph and Hyrum!
