Chicagoland

I never thought I’d say this about Chicago, but this place is beautiful!

Kicking around the soccer ball at one of our favorite parks by the lake.  I feel like it is a scene right out of a movie when ever we go there.  Green grass, breeze from the lake, sailboats….it’s dreamy 🙂

Robert had a reception type meeting at a fancy-pants consulting firm in downtown Chicago.  The boys and I decided to go with him so that we could explore while he was in the meeting and meet up and go to the museum or something with him when he was done.  Well that event ended up being a funny comedy of errors.  We got stuck in traffic and Robert was 45 minutes late.  To make matters worse (and him even later) he was wearing his freshly ironed business clothes and has a fancy leather portfolio that he takes with him to these things to keep his business cards, resume, and whatever papers they hand out and he set the portfolio down between the passenger seet and the center console. Unbeknownst to him there was melted M&Ms down there (I’m blaming the boys for that, not me of course) and on his way in he tucked it under his arm and smeared chocolate all over his shirt.  He realized what had happened before going into the meeting and made a b line for the bathroom.  He tried wiping hit off, no luck.  The lobby sold travel type things so he was able to buy some spot remover, took his shirt off in the bathroom, washed it, then dried it under the hand dryer, then put it back on and went to the meeting.  lol never a dull moment!

Once Robert’s meeting was over, we had a good laugh and decided to go on a boat tour since the museum was closed.  This was probably one my favorite things we’ve done since moving here!  It was so beautiful!  The boat went out on Lake Michigan through a lock and then back down the River a little ways.

can you tell by my grip on his arm that I was a little worried about him falling overboard?
